Even though summer is over families can take pleasure in swimming all year long at their local indoor pools, YMCA’s or gyms. Swimming is a fun, low-impact fitness activity any individual can participate in. For people who are out of shape or suffer from arthritis and are in need of a good work out, swimming is a terrific choice, so consider getting some sustainable swimwear.

Swimming uses a majority of the major muscles in your body and an easy swim burns around 500 calories an hour.  A vigorous swim can burn up to 700 calories.  Water is about 800 times denser than air so whenever you kick, pull yourself forward and push against the water you are getting a tiny resistance workout.
